JOINT VENTURE TO DEVELOP EMP PROTOCOLS

The Company is pleased to announce the establishment of a joint venture with Oppenheimer Enterprises LLC to develop EMP protocols. Dr. Les Oppenheimer had worked closely with Norman Haber during the initial development of EMP. He was the chief scientist instrumental in the development of the protocols presented in publication for The National Academy of Sciences Paper (vol.79 no.2, 1982) which presented Norman's Electromolecular Propulsion as a distinctly different process from it's classical counterparts. The Paper was sponsored by Nobel Prize recipient and noted biochemist and geneticist Rollin Hotchkiss. Among the Novel attributes of EMP is the speed of molecular separation unparalleled by current technologies. These EMP qualities remain to this day relevant in the separation sciences.

The purpose of the JV will be to develop "benign" reagents to be used in proteomics to separate clinically significant molecules within a few minutes. Having benign reagents will be advantageous in the handling and permitting commercialization of the process.Haber Inc. will have the patent rights to all technology developed and Oppenheimer Industries will be entitled to a percentage of the total profits derived thereof.

Work is currently being conducted at the Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey.

Kenya: Gold Rush: Illegal Mining Claiming Lives

The abandoned mines were soon claimed by locals who used archaic ways to extract the gold, oblivious to the health risks involved. The miners use mercury to extract gold from the ore, as it is cheap and easy to use. But mercury is a highly toxic substance that attacks the central nervous system and is particularly harmful to children. High levels of exposure can affect the development of their brain, kidneys, and digestive system, and cause developmental delays.

Some 60 Detained In Anti-Gold Mine Protest In Bucharest

The protesters wearing white quarantine jumpsuits and masks were trying to set up a quarantine zone around the building. They are accusing ministry officials of being biased in the assessment of environmental consequences of the use of cyanide in the gold extraction process.

They say the use of this technology will lead to an ecological and cultural disaster at Rosia Montana, an UNESCO protected area.

Unveiling Canada's Role In Chile’s Environmental And Political Conflicts

“We have to build a culture of resistance and awareness to these mining abuses. We have to reject these abuses in the strongest terms and demand action. We should investigate where our pensions and mutual funds are invested, and try to divest from mining companies such as Barrick and Goldcorp,” added Saunders. “We have to share the many resources out there (like videos, articles, and books) with our neighbors and friends, and not be fooled by companies’ promises for Corporate Social Responsibility.”

Gold Mining In The Peruvian Amazon: A View From The Ground

Mercury is being released in quantities of around 40 tons each year in this region. The detrimental toxin makes its way into the food, water and air that sustains the diverse peoples and animals found here. It is touching all life in this basin; poisoning even those that have no part in the mining industry and live nowhere near a mining zone. I was intent on determining the extent of mercury poisoning caused by the dramatically increasing mining activity.

Latin America: Local Resistances, Global Movements

The consulta in Tambogrande was followed by one in Esquel (southern Argentina) in March 2003, where 80 percent voted against a Meridian Gold project to extract gold by using cyanide. In June 2005 another referendum was held in Sipacapa, Guatemala, with similar results. These consultas were the form of struggle found by the local communities for breaking their isolation and avoiding that their arguments were drowned out by official and media silence. Now it can be said that they had a more than successful result.
